  • Reminders for 30 Jan 2007

    1) Those who have handed in your activity books late, remember that you owe me a 100 word reflection due tomorrow. If you default on this, there will be more severe punishment.

    2) Homework: -concept map on the bunsen burner due on Thursday (01/02/2007)
    -newspaper cutting on any news article from the section "Science and technology" in Straits Times. All you need to do is cut the article out, paste it in your journal and highlight the important points. This is due on Friday (02/02/2007)

    3) Common test for Science: scheduled to be on 8th Feb 2007 during curriculum time. The topics tested are Chapter 1: Discovering Science and Chapter 2: Measurement of length, time, mass and volume. Content in both the textbook and activity book will be tested upon.

    4) Bring your textbooks and activity books for the Science lesson tomorrow.

    2) Lesson on Monday: go to my homeroom at C-02-02. Bring your textbooks and activity books.

    3) The upcoming lesson will be going through of the activity book and powerpoint slides (Bunsen burner).

    Homework for today: :.

    1) Graphic organiser to be filled in with the general safety rules in the laboratory (you may not have enough space so write outside of the picture; you may use coloured pens to make it look more attractive). Due tomorrow (18/01/2007).

    2) Worksheet "Get the picture" with questions on the reverse side of the page. You have the choice of doing them on foolscap or on the sheet itself (but to promote conservation, just write answers on the sheet itself). Due Friday (19/01/2007)

    3) Mini quiz tomorrow. Come prepared.

  • Welcome!

    Hi Sec 1A! A big warm welcome to the school! Being new, you girls must be feeling rather excited and may be a little lost too. Mixed feelings, I bet.

    Don't worry, relax and we'll get through this together! Some announcements:

    1) Get a ring file (preferably blue colour, any shade of it) to file your Science worksheets. You may make or buy your own dividers to categorise the notes and worksheets into : a) notes, b) worksheets, c) reflections and d) miscellaneous. :DD

    2) Get an exercise book (may be B5 in size, if you prefer an A4 one, go ahead). This will act as a journal cum notebook for Science. Decorate the book but there's a theme to stick to. The theme is "Science". :>>

    3) other classroom routines and rules will be set in class.

    That's all folks! Looking forward to seeing you girls in class! ;D
